1. Core Positioning and Research Directions
The Center focuses on the cutting-edge fields of bridge structure data diagnosis and intelligent operation & maintenance at home and abroad, with bridge structure health as its core theme. It conducts research focusing on key objects in bridge operation, such as temperature fields, stress-strain fields, wind loads, transportation loads (from vehicles, ships, etc.), and seismic effects.
To address the international scientific frontiers and major technological needs in the field of bridge facility health and safety for countries along the "Belt and Road", the Center will gather world-class innovative talents, integrate multilateral scientific and technological resources, establish an international operation mechanism, and undertake specialized scientific research tasks related to international frontiers or major needs.
2. Scientific and Technological Cooperation Goals and Key Directions
The core goal of scientific and technological cooperation of the International Cooperation Center (ICC) is: relying on the interdisciplinary integration of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing technologies and traditional disciplinary knowledge, to conduct collaborative research to tackle key technological issues in bridge structure data diagnosis and intelligent operation & maintenance. It will focus on four specific research directions:
Intelligent Data Perception and Interpretation
Damage Simulation and Digital Twin
Big Data Diagnosis and Evaluation
Intelligent Bridge Management & Control and Performance Improvement
3. Development Goals and Paths
Through 3-5 years of systematic development, the ICC will be built into an international smart hub for scientific and technological research, a high-quality platform for scientific and technological cooperation, and a high-level talent development base, integrating scientific research, technology development, and talent cultivation.
On one hand, it will significantly enhance the province’s independent innovation capability and international competitiveness in the field of bridge facility health and safety, and provide solid scientific, technological, and talent support for the safe operation of bridge infrastructure along the "Belt and Road". On the other hand, it will build a "project-talent-base-talent group-major project" progressive international cooperation model, forming a virtuous cycle where "talents are gathered through projects, talents support base construction, bases attract high-level talent groups, and talent groups undertake major projects".
Based on the foundation of constructing a provincial-level center, the Center will make forward-looking arrangements for the cultivation of a national-level center. Ultimately, it strives to develop the ICC into a core international base for scientific and technological research, talent cultivation, and technology transformation in the field of bridge safety along the "Belt and Road".
